Welcome to
How Does it Work?
Choose a team of 11 drivers from the 22 that are participating in this year's F1 World Championship, (see How to Choose your Team).
Each Grand Prix your drivers race in, they will earn points (see How to Score Points).
After each race, the points earned by each driver will be calculated and credited to your team's grand total. When you enter your team, you must also nominate one of the 17 Grand Prix as your `bonus' Grand Prix. Your drivers will earn you double points for this race!
This web page was updated soon after each race and carried the points total for each driver together with a league table of all the teams entered in this Fantasy Grand Prix, so you can keep track of how your team is doing.
If you are still unsure, you can have a look at last year's competition.
For help in choosing your team, why not check out the sites on the useful links page?
Who Can Enter a Team?
Anyone with access to the Internet and an Email account.
You can enter a team on behalf of someone else if they don't have an email account by filling in their details on the entry form and putting your email address. Any information for the person will be sent to your email account.
What Does it Cost?
Nothing! Not everyone on the Internet is after your money you know...
Unfortunately that means there are no prizes either - unless you know of a company willing to put up a prize in exchange for some advertising space or plugs. If so, contact me directly.
Can I Compete Against my Mates or Colleagues?
Yes! You can do both.
When you enter your team, you can name up to 5 `mini-leagues' which you'd like to participate in. This is in addition to the main league, in which every team in the competition will be listed.
Each mini-league will get their own page on the site after each race with a league table containing only those teams in that mini-league, so you can easily see how you're doing in comparison to your mates/colleagues. You could even set up some sort of sweepstake or prize kitty and give prizes out to the best team each week.
There must be a minimum of 5 teams in each mini-league.
How Many Teams May I Enter?
Only ONE TEAM PER PERSON is allowed. So choose carefully. If it is found out that anyone has entered more than one team, ALL their teams will be disqualified from the competition.
Can I Make Transfers?
No. Sorry, you can't change your team once you've submitted it.
How Do I Enter a Team?
Just go to the entry form, fill in your details and that's it!
If your team has been submitted successfully, you'll be taken to a web page with confirmation of your team and other details.
If you have any problems with using the form, email it directly to me.
When is the Deadline for Entering Teams?
Fantasy Grand Prix 2001 has now finished. However the competition is running
again at www.FantasyGrandPrix.org.uk
Are my Details Safe?
Only your name and your team's name and details will be displayed on the web pages.
Your email address, together with all the Fantasy Grand Prix databases, will be kept private, stored on a computer well away from the reaches of the Internet.
Help! I don't know anything about Formula One. Does that matter?
No, probably not. The manager of the winning team in last years competition chose her team more or less by random! If you need some help in choosing your team, why not have a look at the useful links page?
Hah! I know everything about Formula One.
Well, you can prove it then, can't you ?! :-)
